Welcome back to Back to Basics, Mondays! Today, we’re discussing a topic many find intimidating: weighing yourself.
Why Do We Feel Nervous About Weighing?
Let’s be honest— stepping on the scale can evoke mixed feelings. Sometimes, the number will go down, which feels great. Other times, it fluctuates or goes up, and that can be discouraging.
But here’s the truth: your weight doesn’t define your worth or your physique.
Two individuals weighing 80kg & 90kg, their appearance can largely be the same. The mirror is a much better indicator of progress than a number on the scale. Remember, progress is more about how you look and feel, not just the number.
How Should You Weigh Yourself for Accurate Results?
- Wake Up and Flush Out Waste:
- First thing in the morning, before eating or drinking anything, avoid coffee, water, or breakfast.
- Use the bathroom to ensure you’re weighing yourself in a “fasted” state, free of excess water or waste.
- Remove Clothing:
- Weigh yourself in underwear or minimal clothing—nothing bulky or added.
- Clothing weight can fluctuate and skew results, so go裸.
- Be Consistent:
- Weigh yourself at the same time each week, ideally in the morning, for the most accurate tracking.
Final Words of Wisdom
Don’t let the scale scare you—it’s just a tool to measure your progress over time. Focus on your reflection, how your clothes fit, and how you feel. The number is just one piece of the puzzle.
Now, go ahead, step on that scale, and own your journey.
And with that, FITNERO out!
